With the Summer transfer window in full swing, Manchester United aim to sign several players in a variety of positions.
A second attacker remains a priority, with Serie A side Bologna presenting multiple opportunities.
Heavily linked with Dutchman Joshua Zirkzee, Dan Ashworth and his newly-assembled backroom team are also keen on his £21 Million valued teammate.
Enter 23-year-old Dan Ndoye – a versatile Swiss international comfortable playing anywhere across the frontline.
An attractive prospect to accommodate financial restraints
Having signed for Rossoblù in August 2023 from FC Basel, Ndoye enjoyed a promising debut campaign, making 38 appearances across all competitions.
According to Swiss outlet 4-4-2, United have been impressed by the player and made contact with the Italian side.
The attacker has already attracted attention from domestic rivals Inter Milan, with Gianluca DiMarzio claiming he may be an option should Denzel Dumfries depart Nerazzurri.
Given the necessity for Ashworth and Christopher Vivell to operate within a set financial structure, a fee of just over £20M presents a sensible strategy for bolstering attacking options.
What could Ndoye offer Erik ten Hag?
His outstanding trait is his versatility.
Remarkably, he is comfortable playing on either flank or centrally in either transition – chipping in with three goals and five assists across the campaign.
His tenacity on the ball is electric, offering 4.47 progressive carries per 90 minutes last term, with 2.85 carries into the final third.
While still growing amongst the elite in European football, his confidence is notable – with 4.73 attempted take-ons per outing.
The Old Trafford faithful crave a spritely wide player who drives at the backline – eager to beat his man and embody the ethos of the 20-time English champions. Considering this, he ticks the boxes.
Ten Hag desires a wide player willing to supply a defensive shift.
Ndoye excels in this aspect. He ranks in the 91st percentile across Europe for tackles in his defensive third and with dribblers tackled.
His end product is far from the finished article, and like Alejandro Garnacho, would require understanding from supporters.
International pedigree
His performances in Italy have led to recognition from Murat Yakin.
The winger has made eight appearances for Rossocrociati in 2024 and has been integral at the European Championships.
His ability to affect the game at either end has led to four starts in Germany, with his debut international strike against the hosts earning a valuable Group A point.
Notably, he has started on the flank, centrally and as a second striker throughout the competition.
