Goals win games, and despite providing plenty during the early days of Ruben Amorim, Manchester United supporters have endured back-to-back defeats without netting a solitary strike in anger.
In response, questions have surfaced regarding the suitability of the attacking line, with the future of Marcus Rashford appearing to stand outside of the North West.
Newly-acquired Joshua Zirkzee has managed four goals in 26 outings, with the frustrated figure of Rasmus Hojlund sitting on seven from 21 appearances despite a regular lack of opportunities.
All of this has corresponded with the departure of Erik ten Hag and the arrival of Amorim, with a disgruntled supporter base crying out for reinforcements to bolster a new Portuguese style.
Enter Randal Kolo Muani and various reports which suggest an impending January approach from the underperforming English giants.
From Paris, with love
The 26-year-old has struggled to replicate his promising Bundesliga form since arriving at Paris Saint-Germain, with a return of two goals during a frustrating season resulting in his first-team omission in recent months.
Per an exclusive from TeamTalk, “Amorim is hopeful Manchester United can sign Randal Kolo Muani in January, but they will face competition from several other Premier League sides.”
Additionally, the report states that the former Eintracht Frankfurt star is keen to exit Ligue 1 and has his sights set on a move to the Premier League.
London sides Chelsea and Spurs are also keen to add to their attacking options, with both clubs reportedly interested in the out-of-favour Bondy man.
Kolo Muani is the definition of a versatile attacker who is comfortable playing anywhere across the front line.
He earned comparisons to Thierry Henry during his breakthrough years with remarkable pace and trickery on the wing and a scintillating ability to cut inside.
Despite his PSG woe, he is a modern attacker with notable ability on either foot and capable as a wide forward or traditional number nine.
Standing 6’1 tall, his aerial ability is well known to complement notable physicality and guile.
Furthermore, Amorim is a long-term admirer of the attacker, with sources confirming a previous attempt to lure Muani to Portugal.
