Marcus Rashford can play a starring role for Manchester United in the upcoming campaign.
But the Wythenshawe man must banish his inconsistencies and focus on improvements upon his 2023/24 season.
The arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe has rejuvenated the support base – supplying wholesale changes to a club in dire need.
Despite numerous adjustments, fans can expect the Manchester-born winger to retain his iconic shirt for the upcoming season.
But, with a focus on returning the 20-time English champions to the head of the table, a strive for consistency is required.
An uncertain period
Speculation has surrounded his future throughout the summer without any concrete rumours mounting about his departure.
French giants Paris Saint-Germain were among those interested in acquiring the services of the MBE – following the departure of Kylian Mbappe.
As the 2023/24 season concluded, Ten Hag reassured supporters that he wanted to retain his star man.
However, the manager has since confirmed that some transfer power has been removed from his duties, leaving uncertainty regarding various squad members.
A decision that previously relied solely on the Dutchman may be down to others – including Berrada or sporting director Dan Ashworth.
The upcoming season
The two-time FA Cup winner has to ensure that he rekindles some of the form of his memorable 2022/23 season – netting 30 goals in all competitions.
To assist in his rejuvenation, the appointment of Ruud van Nistelrooy will benefit those in the striking department with efficiency in front of goal – including new signing Joshua Zirkzee.
While Rashford missed out on the pre-season victory against Rangers with a ‘niggle’, he is expected to travel to the U.S. on Wednesday ahead of the 2024 tour.
The importance of the frontline to hit the ground running before Fulham visit Old Trafford on the opening day of the season cannot be understated.
In Rasmus Hojlund and Zirkzee, the Old Trafford faithful have an exciting dynamic in the number nine.
The emergence of Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo, with the return of Jadon Sancho and mega-money signing Antony, presents ample options on the wing and a necessity to impress.
Having endured a campaign of frustration, misfiring and off-the-field trauma – all eyes will be on our number ten.
The Reds face Arsenal, Real Betis and Liverpool Stateside before a meeting with Manchester City in the Community Shield as the last part of the pre-season fixtures.
Supporters of this club are renowned for backing their own.
With 123 goal contributions in 272 appearances, alongside four Premier League Player of the Month awards, now is the time for his remarkable talent to shine.
