Mason Greenwood is growing impatient over an uncertain future in England.
The Manchester United attacker has not kicked a ball in the Premier League since an appearance against West Ham in January 2022.
He was made available for a permanent transfer, with a summer departure likely.
But according to reports, the troubled player is ‘growing impatient’ and has set a timescale for a resolution about his next move.
A desire for clarification
Per the Mirror, via Sam Smith in the Daily Express, the Bradford native wants a deal confirmed within the next week.
The 22-year-old enjoyed an impressive loan spell in La Liga with Getafe in 2023-24, earning the Azulones ‘Player of the Season’ award for his efforts.
Despite wanting to rekindle his career in Manchester, the Old Trafford outfit has decided to sever ties.
According to HITC, sources close to United think it would be best if the player did not return for the side’s pre-season training camp on July 8.
Profit and Sustainability
With Dan Ashworth commencing his duties as Sporting Director, the 20-time English champions are working on several potential deals.
Given the necessity for compliance with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules, a tactical approach towards a new philosophy is necessary.
A move for Matthijs de Ligt appears to be moving closer, but the future of several first-team players remains uncertain.
The club aim to maximise the transfer fees received for every outgoing, with a desired price in the region of £40 Million requested for Greenwood.
Christopher Vivell has arrived as director of global talent on a temporary basis to aid Ashworth in concluding the Summer business.
The player is not without suitors, with Valencia seeing a £25M deal rejected in June.
Ligue 1 side Marseille are also keen, alongside several high-profile European names including Barcelona and Juventus.
