Hi Shaun, long time listener first time caller 😉
I have been looking at the different ways I think Amorim will line up vs Arsenal on the fist day and going forward this season. I’m wondering if you feel the same as I do, I’m not 100% sure we need to get in a No9 this summer. Here’s my reasoning – I think we need to find a home for Mainoo, and setting up in a 3-5-2 seems most logical to me. Three at the back Yoro-De Ligt or Maguire-Martinez – 5 across the middle with WBs Amad-Mainoo-Ugarte-Dorgu with Bruno as a 10, the two new boys (🤞) Mbeumo-Cunha up top?
That’s what I would like and think would actually be our best lineup? What do you think?
Hey, Killian. This has been a week of firsts! 😂
I understand where you’re coming from, and I’m sure plenty agree, but I can’t see Amorim persevering throughout last season to change the next. I believe Mainoo can and will be good enough to hold down a midfield two. Maybe I’m wrong, but his technical dynamic can complement Ugarte’s rugged destroyer mentality. The false nine, or a pairing up front is definitely attractive, and likely suit the squad shape more, particularly at this moment in time. The pre-season outings will give us a good idea of where we stand.
Thank you for your support. It means a lot!
