Manchester United are open to selling several first-team players, with the club anticipating Serie A advancements for defender Victor Lindelof.
Sources close to the Theatre of Red have confirmed that the 20-time English champions will listen to offers for the Swedish international during the summer window.
The 30-year-old has spent seven seasons at Old Trafford following his €35 Million move from Benfica in June 2017 but has fallen in the pecking order with the arrival of several star names.
Despite a frustrating pre-season injury to Leny Yoro, Lindelof is sitting behind Lisandro Martinez, Matthijs de Ligt and Harry Maguire for playing time, with Jonny Evans also favoured by many.
With a market value of approximately £10m, the prospect of a reunion with David de Gea at Fiorentina has become a genuine possibility, along with interest from Lazio and their newly-promoted domestic rivals Como.
A summer of change
Following the arrival of several reputable backroom names, United have begun to operate in a deservedly professional manner.
Dan Ashworth has overseen a notable revamp to the first team, with Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial departing following the end of their deals.
Additionally, player sales have accelerated with Mason Greenwood, Willy Kambwala, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Donny van de Beek all departing the North West.
In response, shrewd signings have been acquired, with Joshua Zirkzee, Yoro, De Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui committing to a Manchester rebuild.
Further departures are anticipated, with Scott McTominay a priority target for Serie A giants Napoli.
Lindelof represents a financial dilemma, given his status within the top ten earners at the club. Per Spotrac, the central defender commands over £6m per annum – a hefty figure for an individual who may struggle to make the match-day squad.
Furthermore, he is in the final 12 months of his contract at the club after signing his final extension in January.
De Gea sealed his I Viola move this month, with the two-time Italian champions eager to add his former teammate to their ranks.
Varane joined Como following his departure from England and missed the opening fixture due to knee problems.
Gli Azzurri subsequently endured a 3-0 defeat to Juventus on their return to the top flight and have identified the Swede as a potential option to bolster their defensive roster.
Contrary to conflicting reports this afternoon, sources have confirmed that Manchester United are eager to offload the player before the August 30 deadline, with the player deemed surplus to requirements.
