Ineos has set about revolutionising Manchester United with widespread change – from backroom setup to the impending arrival of Ruben Amorim – and their latest ‘bombshell’ target could be the most significant marker to date.
The Portuguese tactician is regarded as one of the finest football minds on the continent and has earned the respect of the most notable teams in Europe.
Viewed as the inevitable successor to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, the 39-year-old oozes style, charisma, character and a modern way of thinking – attributes that appeal to many of the game’s superstars.
Having stolen a march on their city rivals, United are reportedly plotting another sensational move to step ahead of Pep’s men and numerous others, with Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala in their sights.
At 21, the Stuttgart-born attacker has already solidified himself as an integral cog in the Bayern machine, supplying 85 goal contributions in 175 appearances.
Astonishingly, despite the Bundesliga side’s eagerness to build a future around their youngster, reports in Spain state ‘United are in talks’ to sign one of the beautiful game’s most notable names.
“The bombshell signing”
Per an exclusive report by Javier Parra Pena in Fichajes, the 20-time English champions are plotting to complete one of the biggest transfers of the summer window.
The former Chelsea youth product’s contract expires in 2026, and the prospect of tempting the resolve of the Germans has appealed to United, with a bombshell deal not yet ruled out.
But, according to Parra Pena’s report, competition is fierce, with the mesmeric attacker attracting interest from Real Madrid, Liverpool, Chelsea and City.
Additionally, the Spanish journalist claims Amorim is keen to acquire several of his generals in Portugal, with Goncalo Inacio and Marcus Edwards high on his wishlist.
Musiala is one of several high-profile names the Manchester Giants are considering from Stern des Sudens, with well-documented interest in Alphonso Davies to solidify the wing-back necessity for their new Portuguese chief.
Furthermore, Leroy Sane has been considered by Dan Ashworth and co, with the 28-year-old viewed as a potentially versatile squad option to complement a squad of young starlets.
The Theatre of Red has contacted Parra Pena for further clarification on his report.
