Following promising performances against Arsenal and Real Sociedad, Ruben Amorim is beginning to see green shoots within his Manchester United team, and he will demand a continuation against Leicester City on Sunday evening.
The Reds make the trip to the King Power Stadium for another encounter with Ruud van Nistelrooy following an impressive 4-1 midweek Europa League showing against a tricky Spanish opponent.
Bruno Fernandes will lead his side against a struggling Leicester outfit who have endured six straight defeats in all competitions, including a 2-1 FA Cup loss at Old Trafford.
In contrast, United are unbeaten in three consecutive Premier League fixtures and rightfully felt aggrieved with a solitary point collected against second-placed Arsenal a week ago.
With a two-week break for club football looming large, the Old Trafford faithful will hope for another bright showing, knowing that a win could elevate their side above Spurs into 13th position.

Promisingly, Amorim supplied an encouraging update on the fitness of Mason Mount, with the talented midfielder unavailable since his withdrawal against Manchester City in December.
It was the latest in a long list of frustrating setbacks since he arrived in the North West, but a clean rehabilitation period has left his Portuguese chief hopeful.
“I think he is going to [be on] the bench,” Amorim told media.
“We will see, but we need every player, and if he is fit, I am going to play him. He cannot play too many minutes – just five minutes of Mason Mount is perfect.”
Similarly to many of the United contingent worldwide, the former Sporting supremo is eager for the ex-Chelsea star’s return and explained his importance to this squad.
“I already said, I really love Mason Mount. I see him, and I know how he suffers.
“He does everything right. He eats right, his physical aspect is perfect, he is trying too much, and maybe he is thinking too much about everything. He was European champion, he is a talent, and he is a really talented player.
“When a player does everything like he does, he will always have the support of everybody here in the club.
“So we will try to manage the load, and you already saw some players who have a lot of problems during one time – in some moments – he can stay fit, and I believe a lot in Mason Mount, and we need players like Mason Mount.”
Frustratingly, Leny Yoro will not feature again until April, and Harry Maguire remains doubtful ahead of the trip to his old hunting ground.
However, Manuel Ugarte and Victor Lindelof were unused substitutes against Sociedad, and Christian Eriksen joins Toby Collyer as options following separate spells on the sidelines.
Leicester have failed to score in five consecutive league outings heading into the latest installation of this domestic rivalry. Additionally, the Foxes have suffered defeats in their three previous meetings against the Reds without registering a goal.
In what is a staggering statistic, Van Nistelrooy’s men have lost their last six league games at home, conceding 15 with no reply, and have endured defeat in 12 of their previous 13 Premier League games.
Amorim will aim to heap additional burden on the shoulders of the former Manchester legend, with United boasting three victories against the 2015-16 champions already this campaign.
