Following news that Erik ten Hag will remain manager until June 2026, Manchester United supporters can now focus on the summer transfer window.
The Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules (PSR) dictate a certain impetus on outgoings for the 20-time English champions, with Scott McTominay reportedly a target for four sides.
He proved a reliable asset last season, supplying ten goals and three assists across all competitions.
The 27-year-old was a target for West Ham during the previous pre-season window, and despite discussions, a deal failed to materialise.
A player in demand
United are willing to listen to offers for an array of first-team stars to facilitate their remodelling plan.
Michael Plant from the Manchester World claims McTominay is in demand, with four Premier League sides keen to acquire his services.
The publication states Fulham are leading the chase for his signature, with Marco Silva eyeing a reunion with former United player Andreas Pereira.
Additionally, newly-promoted Southampton are interested, alongside Newcastle and the Hammers.
A host of departures
Anthony Martial and Raphael Varane have already departed Old Trafford, joining academy graduate Brandon Williams in searching for a new place to ply their trade.
The club may have benefitted in offsetting their wages but received nothing in transfer fees.
With names like Jadon Sancho, Mason Greenwood and Casemiro attracting attention from potential suitors, newly-acquired sporting director Dan Ashworth will be hopeful of raising additional funds.
It remains unclear if a versatile player with credible promise in attacking thirds will be on a list of potential departures.
But with a reported fee in the region of £40 Million, McTominay – like many – could find himself departing the North West in the coming months.
