Erik ten Hag’s side is still recovering from a tumultuous campaign that returned an eighth-placed domestic finish – their lowest of the Premier League era.
However, with FA Cup spoils temporarily removing the black cloud over Old Trafford, the 2024-25 Premier League fixture schedule has presented new possibilities for Manchester United.
Fulham at home for the season opener
Ahead of July’s pre-season fixture against Rosenborg in Norway, Ten Hag can begin mental preparations for a Manchester season-opener against Fulham.
The sides have met 34 times in the Premier League era, with the 20-time English champions winning 24, drawing six and suffering defeat on four occasions.
United began last season with an arduous performance against Wolves at home, scrapping a one-nil Raphael Varane-inspired victory before enduring three defeats in their next four.
The side is generally fast out of the blocks, winning seven of their previous nine opening-day fixtures.
Furthermore, since the dawn of the Premier League in 1992, the club has fallen to defeat only seven times in 32 introductory fixtures.
The opening three fixtures
Momentum is pivotal for any side, and a positive start to a league campaign can unlock untold benefits for a group.
If Kobbie Mainoo and Co are to make a domestic statement – abolishing the memory of 2023-24 – they will have to overcome a tricky trio in August.
- Fulham (H) August 16
- Brighton (A) August 24
- Liverpool (H) August 31
Notably, the opening-day meeting with The Cottagers is a Friday-night affair.
Calendar-worthy fixtures
Liverpool on day three is a mouthwatering prospect, but we’ve selected a notable few to pencil into your calendar below.
- Manchester City (A) December 14
- Bournemouth (H) December 21
- Wolves (A) December 26
- Liverpool (A) January 4
- Arsenal (H) March 8
- Manchester City (H) April 5
- Chelsea (A) May 18
